Three years ago, I started studio reformer Pilates. Carol Anderson quickly became one of my favorite instructors, and when the pandemic caused studios to shut down, instead of gaining the Covid 19 (pounds that is) I logged into Carol’s mat Pilates classes via Zoom and gained lean muscle and strength. Through traditional Pilates moves, modifications, and Carol’s signature “smile when it burns” motivation, I reaped a stronger more defined body, confidence, and the ability (most days) to do the coveted Teaser. Carol’s interactive workouts are fun, form checking, strength building, and I love that just when I think I have the move down Carol adds a new challenge. With a refreshing down to earth style Carol acknowledges that some days moves are more of a struggle and some moves just never seem to get any easier, which helps me to give myself a break and commit to try another day. Carol’s classes are essentially like having a personal trainer workout buddy to keep you committed and on track.  We work hard and Carol ends each class with a well-deserved virtual high five. When I cannot login for a live class, I am thankful for Carol’s South County Fitness videos, and whether I have 30 minutes or an hour, and in the mood for weights, squishy ball, or TheraBand, her variety leaves me with no excuse not to login and workout. I am hopeful and excited to one day be back in studio with my friends at South County Fitness, but until then I am grateful for Carol’s dedication to her craft and to those of us who need to work out safely from home.

Going to South County Fitness is my favorite part of the week!  The studio has this safe, chill, relaxed vibe, that helps me disconnect from all of the stresses of my day.  Carol is great at challenging my body and helping me to achieve proper form in my Pilates movements.  The extra attention helps me see gains in strength and agility quicker than in large group classes.  The class is a great value and I leave feeling refreshed and invigorated!  If I could afford to do it everyday, I most certainly would!

Carol is an amazing instructor.  She is so knowledgeable about the whole body, how your muscles are working together and how to improve it all. She is also great at "cuing" you right at the perfect moment to keep your form exactly where it should be in order to avoid injury when working out. She is always in a good mood and ready to greet you with her positivity and her great smile. I couldn't recommend her more.

Carol is a pro. Gives excellent instruction, explains what muscles you should be feeling getting worked out and her attitude is positive with just the right amount of encouragement otherwise prefaced with, "this will be fun" enthusiasm. I've studied with her for over 3 years and highly recommend her for anyone who wants to get fit from the inside out, gain strength, balance and a toned figure.

I started working out at South County Fitness 5 months ago and plan on continuing. I had hurt my shoulder doing exercises with a class and an inexperienced teacher. Carol, the owner of South Coast,  was an instructor I had previously taken classes with and I knew she was excellent. I’ve been going 2 times a week. I have had a problem with balance after a hip surgery and Carol designates exercises just that problem, as well as a great workout. I love the professionalism and competence of South Coast Fitness. Totally recommend it!!
