I began my Pilates journey as a client in 2009 while being forced to give up running for six weeks due to an injury caused by a weakness and imbalance in my body. I immediately fell in love with the control, precision, flexibility, and strengthening that Pilates provided. This was the first fitness strength training program that held my attention and fit in with my desire to continue to learn and improve. After 8 years as a student, I decided to follow my passion and make a career change from Middle School Math Teacher to Pilates Instructor. I completed my Comprehensive Pilates Certification in February of 2018 and began teaching group classes. I am also certified in Barre Above, TRX, and Trigger Point, and am currently working towards a certification in the Pilates Suspension Method. Mid 2020, after several months of teaching live Mat Pilates classes on Zoom, I became focused on finding a safe alternative to larger group classes. South County Fitness South opened in July of 2020 to a small group of clients exactly that environment. As we moved past the pandemic and the little studio grew it's clientele I began to focus on a shift back to the smaller, more intimate group classes that I began my journey with and the benefits they offered. With this in mind I prepared to open South County Fitness North in June 2023 where all of our clients can enjoy the same intimate feeling of a private session in a small group setting.
